ABOUT US

InTech Energy is an energy solutions and technology provider delivering cutting-edge software and professional energy engineering services to commercial buildings, utilities, and governmental markets. Founded in 2013, InTech Energy acquired the assets of Pinnacle Consulting Group, an energy efficiency software firm that was part of the company sold by Ashish Goel to the Willdan Group in 2008. Now, as part of InTech, Pinnacle continues to design, develop and enhance web applications for its Utility and Regulatory clients.

In 2014, InTech set out to change the commercial building automation market by creating Energy360, an affordable cloud-based SaaS system that can monitor, analyze and control energy consumption and operational costs for commercial buildings. We believe that our teams’ collective experience in software engineering, mechanical / energy engineering, and data science will distinguish our company from the competition and enable our customers to thrive in a rapidly changing energy industry.

InTech’s mission is to empower commercial buildings to participate in the Buildings Internet of Things (BIoT) transformation and effortlessly achieve operational efficiencies, reduced energy consumption, improved occupant experience, and enhanced financial performance.  We will enable transparency for our customers by using systems that are interoperable, secure and serviceable by local energy service providers. MEET THE TEAM

Matt Bonasera
VP of Technology

Mathew is a technology leader, enterprise architect and passionate visionary who has 20 years of experience delivering enterprise-scale software products and solutions to drive growth.  He has a strong belief that IT should not be considered a cost center but a vital enabler to business.  As the Vice President of Technology at InTech he will oversee all aspects of the IT and software delivery organization, including development and deployment of our innovative and market leading products like Energy360 and PortfolioProPlus.  His expertise and leadership in building scalable enterprise-scale products is helping move InTech forward with sound software processes and relentless delivery of world class products.  Prior to working with InTech, Mathew has worked in Energy Power Markets, Exploration and Production, E-Commerce, Financial Services, Scheduling Optimization, Mortgage Banking and other industries.

Jake Wise
Director of Business Development

Jake leads InTech's business development efforts. He has over 10 years of experience in the utility industry. Prior to InTech, Jake led the Data Solutions and Cost-Effectiveness teams within the Energy Services Sector, Analytics Group at The Cadmus Group LLC, where he collaborated with InTech during the development of InTech's PortfolioProPlus TM portfolio planning and cost-effectiveness web application. Previous to Cadmus, Jake led service delivery for the Gridonomics © smart grid technology sequenced deployment Advanced Services offering within the Connect Energy Networks team at Cisco Systems. He began his career in the energy domain as a Regulatory Analyst in the Energy Division, Demand Side Analysis Branch at the California Public Utilities Commission(CPUC). At the CPUC Jake co-authored the Alternative-Fueled Vehicle Rulemaking (R.) 09-08-009 white paper: "Facilitating Plug-in Electric Vehicle Integration: Revenue Allocation & Rate Design" and led the renegotiation and unwind of the outstanding California energy crisis power contracts, municipal debt and fixed and floating rate swap portfolio.  Jake holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Masters in Sustainable Business Management from the Presidio Graduate School.

Ashish Goel
President

Ashish has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, leader, and manager in the energy, environmental and technology industries. As President of InTech, Ashish oversees all operations and business development activities.  Prior to InTech, Ashish was cofounder and CEO of the Intergy Corporation, which was later acquired by the Willdan Group in June 2008 and renamed Willdan Energy Solutions (WES). As CEO of WES, Ashish grew the energy efficiency business to more than $50 million, with offices in 8 states across the US and a staff exceeding 150 people. He previously cofounded Insync Information Systems that was acquired by Xoriant Corp. in 2002. Ashish holds a degree in Chemistry from IIT Bombay and a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Clemson.

Rich Fox, P.E.
Sr VP Engineering

Rich leads InTech's energy engineering efforts to develop and implement power monitoring and engineering analytics as well as integrating building control solutions for our commercial customers. Rich is a licensed professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, working to make commercial buildings more efficient. Rich's direct experience is inside the energy efficiency industry delivering mechanical, lighting, and other energy and water efficient projects.  Prior to InTech, Rich was the VP of Engineering at Willdan Energy Solutions where he oversaw all engineering activities across the U.S.  In all these roles, he is driven by the ultimate goal of helping customers reduce their energy consumption and environmental footprint.

Marc Davilla
Director of Sales and Business Strategy

Marc is the Director of Sales and Business Strategy at InTech.  Marc has more than 20 years of sales and technical industry experience in Building Energy Monitoring/Management, A/V systems, digital signage, security (CCTV) and access control systems, data center mission critical systems monitoring and fire/life safety systems. He has worked in both start-up and growth companies in the areas of business development, sales, technical sales, operations, and systems deployment in high-tech markets and has played a key role in defining strategy and planning as well as helping manage various mergers and acquisitions.

Don Garabedian
Chief Financial Officer

Don is the Chief Financial Officer of InTech Energy and oversees the financial management of the company.  Don is an established investor in the technology sector and CPA. Prior to InTech, Don served as a senior manager at PwC.

BOARD OF ADVISORS

Steve Schiller

Steven has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry with a focus on demand-side energy efficiency, renewables and independent power. He’s been a long time consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Protection Partnership Division and has served as a member of the Small Scale Working Group of the Executive Board of the UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism. He is also the former Vice Chair of the California Climate Action Registry Board (appointed by State Senate) and was an Advisory Board Member of the California Public Interest Energy Research Program of the California Energy Commission. He is a founding member of The Climate Registry as well as a founding Board Member of the Clean Economy Network (which was combined with the Advanced Energy Economy).

Mark Gaines

Mark brings 28 years of progressive management and consulting experience with Sempra Utilities (San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Company) in the areas of energy efficiency, demand response, customer marketing and engagement, environmental compliance and regulatory policy development and compliance. At Sempra, Mark directed the development and implementation of energy efficiency and demand response programs while managing an annual budget of over $200 million. He was responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for these programs and also directed the development of program and regulatory strategy and compliance, marketing collateral and IT systems for results tracking and reporting.

Jon Verlinde

Jon was Senior Vice President of National Programs for Gilbane Federal with his primary focus on business development. Responsibilities included identifying and tracking new opportunities, oversight of program managers, guiding the acquisition, teaming and performance on several multiple award IDIQ contracts, and leading the proposal and sales team for successful awards.

He earned his BS in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State and MS in Business Administration from Boston University. He has 40 plus years of experience in results-oriented engineering program management and 28 years as a Civil Engineer Officer with the Air Force. He has managed well over $1 billion in projects over his career and led engineering operations for two of the 10 major operating divisions in the US Air Force. He is skilled in strategic planning, teaming, marketing and execution of major engineering, construction, maintenance and environmental programs.

Web Application Engineer - C# .NET Javascript

POSITION:

Join our growing firm to help us enhance our energy monitoring and building automation solution for commercial buildings. We are looking to bring on board a Web Application Engineer that has at least 3+ years experience developing applications using C# /Javascript / .NET MVC / SQL. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science or an engineering equivalent 
  • 3+ years experience developing C# /Javascript, .NET MVC, SQL 
  • Working knowledge of the following: JSON, HTML5, CSS, RestFUL web services.
  • Past experience with test driven development and continuous integration
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clean, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Passion for best practices in computer science disciplines, object orientation, code reuse and test driven development 
  • Experience in Scrum or other Agile development techniques
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Azure platform is desired
  • Passionate about creating innovative, high-end technical solutions

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop web-based energy management applications in the .NET software environment
  • Write code in C#, JavaScript, .NET MVC, SQL
  • Update the development team in daily scrum meetings
  • Participate in twice-monthly sprint planning sessions
  • Thoroughly understand business requirements using team discussions, participating in white-boarding sessions and asking challenging questions
  • Disciplined approach to writing task lists, unit tests and performing continuous quality assurance
  • Must ensure software requirements were developed to specification using manual and automated testing

OTHER:

  • This is a full-time position based out of our office in Pleasanton, CA. This position will be a key member of the InTech software development team.
